Asha & Amen: Why These Words Seal More Than Just Prayers
In the Donald Glenn Enterprises community, everything we do is rooted in faith, alignment, and intention. That’s why I often end prayers, affirmations, or even major decisions with words like “Amen” or “Asha.” These aren’t just religious tags or poetic conclusions. These are spiritual seals — agreements in the unseen — and powerful affirmations of what we believe to be true.
Let’s break it down:
What Does “Amen” Mean?
Amen is a word you’ll find throughout the Bible, especially at the close of prayers or declarations. In its most direct translation, “Amen” means “so be it.” But on a deeper level, it’s a stamp of agreement with God. When we say “Amen,” we’re saying:
“I believe it. I receive it. I align with it.”
It’s a covenant response — not just to what we hope for, but to what we know by faith will come to pass.
What Does “Asha” (or “Ashe”) Mean?
Now let’s talk about Asha — sometimes spelled “Ashe” in Yoruba tradition and African diasporic spirituality. It carries a beautifully powerful meaning:
“Asha” is the creative power to make things happen. It’s the breath of life. The divine force behind manifestation.
Where “Amen” means “so be it” in faith, “Asha” means “so it is” in power.
It’s a word that honors truth, spoken agreement, and spiritual authority. In many African traditions, “Asha” is the word that affirms the divine ability to bring words to life. It’s not passive. It’s a declaration of movement.
Why I Use Both
I often say them together.
Because I want my faith (“Amen”) and my divine energy and action (“Asha”) to be in agreement.
When I pray for healing, I don’t just hope.
I agree with God (Amen)
—and I speak that power into the earth (Asha).
When I teach, coach, or lead a production, I want my words to fall on fertile ground.
So when I close a session or make a declaration, I don’t just end it.
I seal it with power.
Asha. Amen.
So it is. So be it.
Sealing What You Agree With
Here’s what I want to leave you with:
You don’t have to wait for the end of a prayer to use these words. Anytime something speaks to your spirit, your purpose, or your truth, you can claim it.
- You hear a promise from God? Amen.
- You feel a shift happening in your life? Asha.
- You agree with a truth that resonates in your bones? Asha and Amen.
You’re not just hoping. You’re standing, claiming, and co-creating with the Creator.
Let’s Seal This Together
We are building something powerful in this community.
We’re not just creating content. We’re creating healing.
We’re not just praying. We’re becoming.
So whether you say “Amen”, “Asha”, or both — let it be a declaration of your alignment with who God has called you to be.
Asha. Amen. Let it be done.
With Purpose & Power,
Donald Glenn II
